Physical Therapy is a health profession developed to help people with large motor coordination, mobility, muscle strengthening, pain management and endurance. Adult physical therapy involves treatment of either neurological or orthopedic conditions. The ultimate goal is to restore the patient to their previous level of function. Pediatric physical therapy also involves treating either neurological or orthopedic conditions.

The difference is that children may have never developed certain milestones; consequently treatment involves developmental training and teaching of these skills for the first time.

Pediatric therapy is an area of extreme specialty, which takes a therapist trained and experienced with a knowledge of normal development and subsequently abnormal developement issues.
